I believe there is one God who created all things. “All things” includes mankind, who, like all creation, was created to demonstrate God’s magnificence. Unfortunately, man let his self-centeredness interfere and rebelled against God. Despite our rebellion, God demonstrated his loving nature by providing one way for our relationship with Him to be restored. He came to earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ, who sacrificed His life in order to reconcile us to Himself. Our eternal future is secured through our relationship with Christ, not through adherence to any doctrine or theology.
Everything else in life is designed to point us to a deeper relationship with God. But too often we miss that design.
“Everything else” includes: the joys of family, friends, serving others, work, hobbies (for me that’s motorcycle touring and specialty coffee). It also includes the evil, pain and suffering that we all experience as part of life. (See Randy Alcorn’s book, If God is Good for a more thorough explanation of how “bad” things lead us to God.)
